History of At Home Chesapeake

At Home Chesapeake members have been working together since 2008 to create a virtual village that educates and empowers its members to live and age well in Anne Arundel County.

Our membership is diverse. Our ages range from 49 to 96 years of age. Our backgrounds are as varied as the number of members: members with legal backgrounds, from the education field, military and government, IT and computer technology, engineers, physicians and nurses, human resources, and social work. Some of us are still working; some of us are “re-careered.” All of us are engaged in a myriad of ways in our communities.

We share our talents with each other and help find resources that we need. We learn from each other. When we need to learn more, we engage experts to teach us what we want to know. We share that knowledge with the community. By sharing our knowledge, we can be a valuable resource for other members as well as for the community. This intentional approach creates a valuable and stable system of support for each of us.

We are all developing Master Aging Plans (MAP’s) that are roadmaps to help us plan for our future. We know that we are all personally responsible for our planning which we believe will be cost effective for ourselves as well as to our community.  It will also help us prepare for any “bumps” along the road of life. Consider contacting us for more information on our innovative approach to living well in our community.

As we are a registered 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, we can accept donations.  All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.  Donations will help us move forward with our planning and eventually scholarship members for AHC.
